Welcome to the home of the mighty Wildcats. Middle School is an important decision making period in the lives of eleven to fourteen year olds. It is our job, parents and staff, to provide middle school students with the best possible environment for learning and growing. At Chehalis Middle School, we are committed to helping our students develop and grow into caring, compassionate, well-rounded members of society by focusing on education and social interaction. It is our goal to provide students with meaningful activities both during and after school so that they might feel part of Chehalis Middle School. We appreciate your

Chehalis Snow Routes
At times, when extreme weather requires, the district will be on "SNOW ROUTES." Make sure that you are aware of the time and stop of your student's bus on snow routes. Your student will not be dropped off at the "snow route" location unless there is a person to pick them up. If you would like them dropped off without an adult, you must call the office, 360-807-7230, and request a note be sent to the bus driver. Students without a note or adult will be returned to the school of origin.

CMS Athletic Packet
At Chehalis Middle School, students are encouraged to participate in extracurriculur activities. Athletics often help students grow and mature, giving them much needed tools and practice for working with others and developing social skills. If you are considering having your son or daughter participate in athletics at CMS, please click here to view the CMS Athletic Packet. You may want to print this packet, fill it out, and bring it to the office at your earliest convenience. ASB and athletic fees can be found on the Registration & Supplies page of this website.

Skyward Family Access
Skyward Family Access is located at http://family.chehalis.wa-k12.net
Family Access is an important tool that gives parents and teachers another avenue for communication. Parents and students have the ability to access assignment and grading information for each class. The following guidelines will help you make best use of this powerful tool:
- Please remember that until final grades are posted a teacher’s electronic grade book is essentially a “work in progress.” Grade weighting may change as teachers add or remove assignments.
- It is reasonable to expect teachers at CMS to update their online grade books, on average, once every two weeks. The actual time will vary depending on the time of the term (less frequent updates at the beginning of a semester and more frequent updating as a semester progresses). Remember that Progress Reports come home approximately every two weeks. See the attached schedule so that you can be ready to ask your student for his/her reports on the day they are handed out.
- Most importantly, take note of missing assignments and talk with your son/daughter about the reasons for the missing work. Then, contact the teacher if you still have questions.
If you have not requested your name and login information, please do so. Family Access is a valuable tool that needs to be utilized. Parents may request the information from their child's school. If a parent has students at multiple schools, one login will work for students in every school that uses Skyward.
