Our team-oriented staff works closely with students and parents to create a school climate where each student may develop self-esteem while fulfilling his or her academic potential. Olympic’s strong core curriculum is directly aligned with the Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALR’s) and our instructional practices reflect the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL). Our test scores are historically above the state average.
The core academic curriculum (reading, writing, communication, math, science, and social studies) is taught by the homeroom teacher. Music, physical education, and library are taught by specialists. In the fifth grade, beginning band and orchestra are taught on a daily basis.
Social skills, reinforced daily by our entire staff, are taught to both grade levels once a month.
